Stock/Super Stock
#1

Why isn't there a segment for the awsome Stock/Super Stock class?
It's legendary and is one of the most entertaining and fun classes besides Pro Modified!

Stock / Superstock

you will not find a Stock or Super Stock car south of scandinavia (shure in the US) - i also think these are very interesting classes; even in the German drag racing rules you won`t find a single word about these - simply spoken, they are not popular over here.

Why not, are they to expensive to build, to complicatde to follwo up with tear downs, tech inspections etc?
Don't you have a lot of 60/70Confused Muscle cars in Germany, I beleive the Germans would love to watch wheelstanding Stock and Super Stockers, dont ya?

Stock/Super Stock is a part of Speedgroups NDRS-series, I beleive that you soon will see the Stock and Super Stockers in Germany to. I would love to bring mine to Hockenheim...

We do have a lot of classic muscle cars over here, but the developement of dragracing differs alot from that in scandinavia over the years, and the popularity is not nearly compareable as most of us wish it should be.

They just started to allow the bugs in SS again, that is very cool!
Do you beleive thatthe interest for S/SS wopuld grow if we brought 6 cars with us to Hockenheim, just to race and show?
There is alot of S/SS cars for sale in US right now...

There is about 100 S/SS cars in Sweden, about 75 of them compete every season :-)

This is a movie that we shot a few years ago...

Jan about Hockenheim you best speak to Jerry Lackey.
S/SST would be something for Drachten in Holland.
They have a hugh interest in street racing cars.
In Germany the just brought up the KOG, King of Germany, where streetlegal cars
run in headsup. Robert Porthorsky from Sweden with his Syclone had a try last year.
For the event at Alkersleben in Germany you an speak to Thorsten Appel aka Scorpion here on the board.

Where can we find the swedish rules for that classes ? I know in the us they have limited weight , carburators . original head castings and engine case ...for the VW's
The good thing is that with those rules the engines do not get so expensive :-)

@ Merlin,

nur mal so am Rande; Stock und Super Stock hat nix mit street racing zu tun so wie es hier in D verstanden wird - im Gegenteil. Nur mal so als Info, daß es keine "diplomatischen" Verwicklungen gibt. Wink

viele Grüße
