i agree with you; you can easy identify crane cam cores by the gold colour
between lobes. This is a copper plating for areas that does not need to
be netrided, invented by crane first for the automotive / aftermarket industry.
Several years ago almost every cam core had this copper plating - even my
preferred cam company - comp. cams used their cores.
