Hello
Pro - Less cavitation and better flow due to water circulation not being dependent on engine rpm. Many pumps just beat the water and don't circulate well at 6000+ rpm.
Pro - As other have stated, you can have it run (along with the fans) if the engine is shut off
Con - price
Con - durability
We run one of these -->Moroso water pump kit and have for years.

...also, wenn ich da meinen Eisengußbollen von Wasserpumpe anschaue, dann bringt eine elektrische aus Alu bestimmt noch was an Gewichtersparnis...
